Woman dies, ten injured in crash

A tragic accident unfolded overnight in south-east Queensland, claiming the life of a woman and leaving ten others requiring medical attention.

The incident occurred around 9:40 PM on Gympie Arterial Road at Bald Hills, north of Brisbane, when a Toyota Hiace van collided with two parked vehicles – a Hyundai Imax and a Honda Odyssey – that were stopped along the shoulder of the roadway.

“The woman who was traveling in the Honda Odyssey tragically died at the scene,” stated authorities.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, transporting ten individuals to hospitals for treatment of varying injuries. The condition of several remains critical.

  • Three men are currently battling for their lives:
    • One sustained severe head and leg injuries.
    • Another suffered a combination of head and limb trauma.
    • A third individual is also being treated for life-threatening injuries.
  • The remaining seven injured individuals – four women and three men – are receiving care in stable condition.

Gympie Arterial Road was temporarily shut down for approximately four hours while authorities processed the scene, reopening early this morning.
