Following his recent departure as chairman of the Metropolitan Police Federation, Rick Prior has affirmed his commitment to the statements he made during a televised interview.
Prior’s suspension occurred in October 2024, stemming from remarks where he voiced apprehension regarding perceived reluctance among officers when interacting with London’s diverse ethnic minority communities. He stated:
“My concerns were rooted in ensuring fair and effective policing for all Londoners.”
The former chairman maintains his position on the matter and has indicated no regret over his previous comments.
