Varanasi Teen Claims Kidnapping and Rape

Kidnapped, Gang-Raped For Days By 22 In Varanasi, Claims 19-Year-Old Crime

A deeply disturbing case of kidnapping and repeated sexual assault has shaken Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Authorities are actively pursuing those responsible after a 19-year-old woman endured an appalling ordeal lasting over a week.

The young woman, from the Lalpur area of northern Varanasi, routinely visited friends without incident. On March 29th, she left her home as usual, but did not return. Her family reported her missing on April 4th.

According to reports, she was incapacitated with drugs and subsequently released at the Pandeypur intersection by her captors. Remarkably, she managed to reach a nearby friend’s residence before being taken home. It was then that she revealed the full extent of her trauma to her father, prompting him to file a formal complaint with the police.

The attacks are alleged to have occurred at multiple locations including a hookah bar, hotel, lodge, and guest house, involving what is described as a large group of perpetrators. The official police report, obtained by news sources, details involvement from 22 individuals in the assaults.

Law enforcement has registered a case and initiated interrogations with those apprehended. Several arrests were made on the night of the initial complaint, including suspects from Hukulganj and Lallapura areas. Police are currently withholding specific details due to the possibility that some individuals involved may be minors.

“The victim or her family did not initially report sexual assault,” stated Chandrakant Meena, a senior police officer. “The formal rape complaint was only filed on April 6th.”

Investigations remain ongoing as authorities work to bring all those responsible to justice.

  • Six suspects have been arrested.
  • A search is underway for the remaining individuals implicated in the case.
  • The assaults occurred over a period of one week.
