Bicycle recall issued

Britons told to 'stop using' bicycle sold in the UK amid 'risk of injury' Safety

A critical safety alert has been issued concerning certain Simplon bicycles, prompting owners to immediately review their bikes for potential hazards.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has flagged a risk of injury associated with these bicycles, specifically those equipped with SwissStop Centerlock Adapter Sets. The core problem lies within the locking rings of these adapter sets which may gradually loosen and ultimately detach from the bicycle’s braking system.

This defect means the product does not comply with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

“Owners should discontinue use of the bicycle until the adapter is replaced.”
