Young Killer Rearrested

Australia’s most notorious juvenile offender has been taken back into custody just weeks after gaining freedom, facing new allegations of violating his release conditions and being in possession of illicit material.

The individual, legally referred to as “SLD” due to ongoing legal restrictions, previously spent two decades incarcerated for the tragic death of three-year-old Courtney Morley-Clarke in 2001. At the time of the crime, he was just thirteen years old.

Following his release from prison on March 15th – marking his now thirty-eighth year – SLD’s freedom has been abruptly curtailed.

Yesterday afternoon, detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad, supported by riot squad officers, apprehended him in Campbeltown.

The charges against him include:

  • Four counts of violating his extended supervision orders.
  • Possession of child abuse material.

Law enforcement officials transported SLD to the Campbelltown Police Station, where he was denied bail. He subsequently appeared in Campbeltown Local Court today.

“This situation highlights the complexities and ongoing challenges associated with managing individuals who have committed serious offenses,” stated a police spokesperson.
