Wisconsin Teen Charged in Deaths

Wisconsin teen charged in shooting death of mother, stepfather found decomposed in their home Crime

A teenager in Wisconsin faces multiple charges following the discovery of his mother and stepfather’s remains in their home earlier this year.

Seventeen-year-old Nikita Casap is accused of orchestrating a complex plot culminating in the deaths of Donald Mayer and Tatiana, who were found severely decomposed on February 28th. Court documents indicate Casap has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, along with charges related to concealing bodies, theft, vehicle theft, misappropriation of identity information for financial gain, and other offenses.

A court commissioner initially set his bail at $1 million, and a previous auto theft case against Casap was dismissed. The unsettling discovery occurred after the couple had been missing for several weeks.

Prosecutors allege that Casap fatally shot Donald Mayer and Tatiana on February 11th—more than two weeks before their bodies were found. Investigators believe Casap harbored a disturbing fixation, reportedly sharing with a female classmate his “fantasies” of killing his parents and taking his own life.

Surveillance footage played a crucial role in the investigation. The report details how cameras recorded Donald Mayer’s body, concealed beneath blankets and pillows. The footage allegedly shows Casap entering the room multiple times—once appearing to deliberately keep candles lit, and on another occasion, directly addressing the camera with chilling remarks: “so you can see him there. I can literally see the (expletive) rotten body there.”

On February 23rd, authorities report Casap left the family home in his parents’ SUV, embarking on a cross-country journey that stretched through Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, and ultimately ended with his arrest in a rural area of northwest Kansas.

Further investigation uncovered disturbing communications. Telegram messages obtained by investigators appear to show Casap asking a Russian speaker: “…while in Ukraine, I’ll be able to live a normal life? Even when it’s found out I did it.”

Casap reportedly confided in the same female classmate that he had been in contact with an individual from Russia. According to authorities, this person was allegedly aware of Casap’s plan—which involved obtaining passports, a vehicle, and the family dog—with the intention of fleeing to Ukraine.

Key Charges Against Nikita Casap:

  • Two counts of first-degree intentional homicide
  • Two counts of hiding a corpse
  • Theft of movable property (multiple counts)
  • Taking and driving a vehicle without consent
  • Misappropriating ID information to obtain money (two counts)

“This case highlights the disturbing nature of planned violence and the potential for digital communication to facilitate such acts,” stated a source close to the investigation.
