Former President Donald Trump is scheduled to undergo his annual physical examination on Friday, a procedure he announced following assertions of excellent health.
The 78-year-old revealed the appointment via his Truth Social platform, stating, “I am pleased to report that my long-scheduled Annual Physical Examination will be done at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on Friday of this week.” He further commented, “I have never felt better, but nevertheless, these things must be done!”
The examination will take place early Friday afternoon in Bethesda, Maryland. This checkup comes approximately a year after a harrowing incident while Trump was campaigning in Pennsylvania.
Following the near-fatal event, his former physician, Dr. Ronny Jackson, released a statement describing it as “an absolute miracle he wasn’t killed.” The letter detailed that “The bullet passed, coming less than a quarter of an inch from entering his head, and struck the top of his right ear.”
Later, in November, Dr. Brett Osborn, a Florida neurosurgeon, shared with Fox News Digital his assessment that Trump remained in good condition. He observed, “The fact that he attended 120 events in seven months, often multiple rallies in a single day in different states, is proof-positive that Trump has a tremendous amount of stamina, mentally and physically.
“
Despite these assessments, concerns regarding Trump’s health have been raised by Democratic figures and members of the medical community. An open letter signed by over 230 doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals, released in October, urged the release of his full medical records.
This Friday’s examination will mark the first physical assessment of Trump should he return to office.
During his previous term, in 2020, Trump received treatment for COVID-19 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
