Putin aide dies in Moscow blast

A high-ranking official within Russia’s armed forces has died following a car bombing in the Moscow region.

According to authorities, Yaroslav Moskalik perished when his vehicle detonated in Balashikha, a town just outside of Moscow.

The Russian Investigative Committee confirmed that Moskalik held the significant position of deputy director within the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff.

“Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident,” stated a spokesperson for the committee.
