Trump questions Putin’s intentions

Trump blasts Putin, questioning if Russian leader wants peace or is just 'tapping me along' Politics

Former President Donald Trump voiced skepticism regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s genuine desire for a resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has persisted for over three years.

Trump conveyed his concerns via Truth Social on Saturday, following a week marked by a devastating missile strike against Kyiv by Russia. Ukrainian officials reported that Thursday’s attack resulted in at least ten fatalities and ninety injuries, including numerous children.

“There was simply no justification for Putin’s recent targeting of civilian populations – cities and towns,” Trump stated shortly after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Vatican for Pope Francis’ funeral.

He further elaborated: “It leads me to believe he may not be interested in concluding this war; perhaps he’s merely manipulating events, needing a different approach—perhaps through financial restrictions or escalated economic penalties? The human cost is staggering!!!”
