Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, unveiled her latest project, “Confessions Of A Female Founder,” a podcast series that debuted with a remarkably personal disclosure about her health.
During the premiere episode, she engaged in a heartfelt discussion with Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder and CEO of Bumble, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into their shared experiences. This marks Meghan’s return to audio storytelling following her previous venture, “Archetypes.”
The podcast series will consist of eight episodes, each exploring the challenges and triumphs faced by female entrepreneurs. A striking moment occurred when Meghan revealed she experienced postpartum preeclampsia, a condition she discovered she shared with Wolfe Herd.
As she recounted her experience, Meghan highlighted the difficulty of navigating these serious health concerns while simultaneously fulfilling public duties: “We both had very similar experiences though we didn’t know each other at the time with postpartum, and we both had preeclampsia. Postpartum preeclampsia. It’s so rare and so scary.”
She elaborated on the added pressure: “And you’re still trying to juggle all of these things, and the world doesn’t know what’s happening quietly. And in the quiet, you’re still trying to show up for people mostly for your children but those things are huge medical scares.” Wolfe Herd underscored the gravity of the situation, stating: “I mean life or death, truly.”
The podcast follows Meghan’s recent Netflix series “With Love, Meghan,” which showcased her culinary and crafting activities alongside friends in the entertainment industry. “Confessions Of A Female Founder” aims for a different direction than “Archetypes,” which reportedly struggled to achieve widespread popularity.
The launch of the new podcast occurred while Prince Harry is currently in the United Kingdom. The Duke of Sussex has returned to pursue legal action regarding his security arrangements, seeking taxpayer-funded protection. While he addresses this matter in court, Meghan is concentrating on her new series focused on conversations with small business owners and their journeys.
