Manchester bomber’s brother attacks officers

Hashem Abedi, sibling of the perpetrator of the Manchester Arena bombing, is implicated in a serious assault on three prison staff at HMP Frankland, located in County Durham.

The Prison Officers Association swiftly condemned the incident as an “unprovoked attack,” detailing that it resulted in severe injuries requiring immediate medical attention. According to their statement, the officers sustained burns and scalds after Abedi reportedly hurled boiling cooking oil.

Further escalating the situation, the POA reported that Abedi subsequently utilized improvised weapons to stab the affected personnel.

“The level of violence displayed is deeply concerning and highlights the significant risks faced by our dedicated prison staff,” a spokesperson for the association stated.
