The vibrant entertainer Jiggly Caliente, best known for her appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race and other acclaimed television projects, has passed away at the age of 44. Her family confirmed the news, stating that Bianca Castro-Arebejo, as she was formally known, died peacefully in the early hours of April 27, 2025.
The passing occurred at 4:42 AM, surrounded by loved ones, just days after Caliente underwent a right leg amputation due to complications from a serious infection.
Caliente first captivated audiences in 2011 as a contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race and later brought her talent to Drag Race Philippines in 2022. She also left an indelible mark with her role in the acclaimed 2018 LGBT drama, Pose.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, her family shared:

A luminous presence in the worlds of entertainment and advocacy, Jiggly Caliente was celebrated for her infectious energy, fierce wit, and unwavering authenticity.”
The tribute continued, highlighting her impact on countless lives: “She touched countless lives through her artistry, activism, and the genuine connection she fostered with fans around the world. Her legacy is one of love, courage, and light. Though her physical presence is gone, the joy she shared and the space she helped create for so many will remain forever.”
Her family emphasized that she will be “deeply missed, always loved, and eternally remembered.” They further noted Caliente’s significance stemmed from her “unwavering authenticity,” a quality deeply admired by those who knew and followed her.
Born Bianca Castro in San Pedro, Philippines, she later immigrated to New York City with her mother and brother at the age of 10. Throughout her career, Caliente distinguished herself both as a performer and as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
This loss comes after the recent passing of The Vivienne (James Lee Williams), a beloved winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, who died earlier this year at age 32 from ketamine-induced cardiac arrest. Publicist Simon Jones described Williams as “an incredibly loved, warmhearted and amazing person.”
