Orton’s scheduled match was unexpectedly cancelled when Kevin Owens had to withdraw from his wrestling commitments due to a serious neck injury. Seeking to maintain his momentum and solidify his legacy at WrestleMania – marking the 20th time he’d competed in the event – Orton issued an open challenge.
As anticipated, Hendry’s entrance was met with considerable enthusiasm from the audience. However, the champion quickly realized the weight of Orton’s reputation. Despite a spirited defense fueled by crowd support, Hendry ultimately couldn’t withstand Orton’s power and skill.
“Say his name and he appeared,” noted observers, as Orton swiftly countered with an RKO, catching Hendry mid-turn with a flash of the camera. The move decisively ended the contest.
Orton added another vanquished opponent to his extensive record. “He came around and found out,” Orton remarked after the victory.
