Florida Principal Charged

An assistant principal in Florida is currently on leave following allegations of misconduct involving a student at Lake Marion Creek Middle School in Poinciana. Dr. Keiva Lark, 53, faces charges of lewd/lascivious conduct and inappropriate contact with a minor due to an incident reported by the school’s principal to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office on April 4th.

The situation began when a 13-year-old male student was sent to Lark’s office for disrupting a test by throwing a crumpled piece of paper. According to statements from the student and two witnesses, Lark instructed him to rub her feet, suggesting he had nothing else to do. She then reportedly removed her shoes and positioned her legs across his lap.

The allegations continue with reports that Lark directed the student on how to properly massage her feet, even demonstrating techniques on his arm and shoulder.

Witnesses relayed disturbing details of Lark’s comments, including a request for him to “rub her feet like he loved her,” and an alleged statement indicating she wanted him to understand “what foreplay is for when he gets a girlfriend.”

Later, one witness stated that Lark admitted to her the incident was inappropriate.

During interviews with authorities, the student also claimed that Lark had previously addressed him using the term “Sexy Chocolate” in public hallways at school.

Sheriff Grady Judd condemned the actions:

“Dr. Lark initially told detectives that this was only a joke, and that she was just trying to humble the victim. It’s completely inappropriate for a 53-year-old woman to act and talk like this to a middle school boy. It’s even worse given that this was an assistant principal and her student.”

While Lark acknowledged acting inappropriately for someone in her position, she denied making any inappropriate comments directly to the student.

The Polk County School Board and the Florida Department of Children and Families were immediately notified, resulting in Lark’s placement on administrative leave.

Superintendent Frederick Heid added:

“This is abhorrent behavior for anyone who works among students, especially an administrator. This person no longer has any business being around children. We commend the school principal for immediately reporting this incident, so we could take action and work with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office to protect students.”
