A serious security incident disrupted filming on Celebrity Big Brother yesterday, triggering an immediate lockdown of the house after a drone successfully breached its defenses.
The intrusion occurred in broad daylight at the London television studios where the reality show is being filmed. The drone managed to land within the garden area, prompting security teams to swiftly enact emergency protocols and secure the property.
All 13 housemates were confined indoors as metal shutters descended over windows and doors, creating a protective barrier around the premises.
The incident has understandably raised significant concerns regarding the safety of the contestants, prompting ITV to initiate a comprehensive review of their existing security protocols.
At the time of the breach, two participants—Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke and former Conservative MP Michael Fabricant—were enjoying the outdoor space.
Footage circulating online, captured by a TikTok user known as “thedronemenace,” documented the unfolding events. The video depicts Fabricant as being the first to notice the drone, playfully mimicking shooting it down with his hand. Rourke, meanwhile, appeared remarkably unfazed, continuing his workout on an exercise bike and only briefly glancing upwards at the device.
As security protocols were activated, both men quickly retreated indoors. The TikTok video shows the shutters rapidly closing, securing the house. The user’s accompanying caption read: “The Celebrity Big Brother house is LOCKED DOWN! Thanks to the DRONE MENACE! Watch the chaos unfold as the housemates react to being trapped!”
According to an anonymous source within ITV speaking to The Sun, “It was a major security breach. Flying a drone over the house is one thing but to be able to land it in the garden meters away from the stars is terrifying.” They continued, “Michael was the first to spot the drone and pretended to shoot it down while Mickey was baffled. All the housemates ran to the doors to see what was happening but Big Brother quickly pulled down the shutters.”
Subsequent videos released by the TikTok user revealed further details, including a surprising moment where Rourke appeared to wave at the drone and seemingly invite it closer. Fabricant was seen holding the door open, ensuring both celebrities made it safely inside before the shutters fully descended.
Other housemates were also caught on camera, peering out of windows with evident curiosity as the situation unfolded before lockdown was complete.
ITV has not yet issued a formal public statement regarding the incident. However, heightened security measures are expected to be implemented around the Celebrity Big Brother compound in the immediate future.
