William departs, Harry stays

Prince William is expected to travel to Paris this Wednesday, marking another event on an eventful week for the British royal family.

Prior to William’s departure, Prince Harry returned to the United Kingdom Sunday in preparation for a two-day hearing at the Court of Appeal. He arrived at the court around 9:30 am today and is anticipated to be present for Wednesday’s proceedings.

During his brief time in the UK, Harry did not encounter his father, King Charles III. The monarch departed on a four-day diplomatic visit to Italy accompanied by Queen Camilla shortly after Harry’s arrival.

William’s trip is linked to his passion for football; he plans to attend the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final match between Paris Saint Germain and Aston Villa. A devoted supporter of Aston Villa, William appeared to hint at his travel intentions following their recent victory over Club Brugge.

“See you in Paris,” he remarked to journalists as he headed toward his car after the game.

This isn’t the first time William has shown his support abroad. Earlier this year, he traveled to Monaco to watch Aston Villa compete in the Champions League.

The relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry remains strained, making a meeting unlikely during their overlapping visits. Harry notably declined to comment when asked about a potential conversation with his father.

As he entered the Court of Appeal this morning, a reporter inquired, “Did you speak to your dad?” – but Harry offered no response.

Key Details Regarding Harry’s Legal Action:

  • Harry is currently engaged in a legal battle with the Home Office.
  • The dispute centers on his right to receive police protection when visiting the UK.
  • He argues that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are not safe or able to “feel at home” without adequate security.

During previous High Court proceedings, it was established that Harry’s status had changed following his departure from royal duties.

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as working members of the Royal Family.

The Duke has argued that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, cannot “feel at home” or “safe” in the country unless his police protection is fully restored.
