Shepherd’s Wedding Cost Complaints Ignite Fan Backlash

Jack P. Shepherd, known for his role on *Coronation Street*, has faced considerable backlash from viewers of *ITV Celebrity Big Brother* following a discussion about the financial strain of planning his upcoming wedding.

Shepherd, a long-standing presence on the soap opera since 2000, reportedly commands an annual salary estimated around £250,000. Despite this, during last night’s episode, he openly expressed concerns over the escalating costs associated with his wedding to fiancé Hanni Treweek.

The conversation began when Danny Beard inquired about Shepherd’s marital status, prompting him to reveal a July wedding date. Ella Wise reacted enthusiastically and the discussion swiftly turned to wedding logistics: “What entertainment and food have you got?”

In what many considered a candid moment, Shepherd admitted, “Food costs a f***ing fortune. I’m not arsed for it.”

Fellow housemate Donna Preston playfully suggested, “Just get Gregg’s to sponsor you, babe,” prompting Shepherd’s retort: “They won’t. No one’s interested.”

Despite his initial dismissal, the other contestants enthusiastically brainstormed sponsorship ideas, with Beard suggesting a partnership with Greggs and Wise even envisioning a McDonald’s catering truck serving cheeseburgers and chips. While Shepherd initially deemed the latter idea “a bit tacky,” Beard felt it would be well-received by guests.

However, the exchange did not resonate positively with many viewers at home. Reactions on social media were overwhelmingly critical:

* “Jack P Shepherd – who earns around a quarter of a million per year for *Corrie*, and £100k for this stint on *CBBuk*. Whinging about food costs for his wedding, and his fellow celebs telling him to message caterers on Instagram to do him a deal. Oh my heart bleeds.”
* “You’re David Platt and have been on *Corrie* since you were 12. Surely you can splash out on wedding food, Jack?”
* “Jack is on *Corrie*, so he expects to get a brand deal to cater his wedding?! #CBBUK”
* One viewer sarcastically asked, “Do u reckon we’re on the same wedding budget, bestie?”
* “Sorry Jack, you earn £250k a year and really shouldn’t be in a position to complain about how much food for weddings cost.”

A minority of viewers did offer support, with one stating: “Jack so real, food costs way too much at weddings.”
