Shedeur Sanders is confidently asserting himself as a top contender for the NFL Draft’s premier quarterback position.
Following his recent pro day, Sanders expressed unwavering belief in his draft standing, even amidst discussions surrounding his throwing technique within NFL circles.
As he told ESPN, “All I need is an opportunity. Simple.” He continued with conviction, “Whatever franchise wants to change their franchise, then there’s no doubt who to go with. I’ve done it over and over and over. So you would be a fool not to pick me.”
Sanders emphasized the vital importance of consistency in quarterbacks, citing his own performance over the past four years as proof of his claim: “What’s the most important trait about a quarterback?… Consistency? Look at the last four years. That’s how I know I’m the best quarterback in the draft.” He concluded with certainty, “What checks all boxes? It leads to one guy.”
Early mock drafts, including those from Fox News Digital, have projected Sanders as a potential No. 2 pick by the New York Giants. However, his talent could land him with any of several teams within the top ten selections.
Several franchises are currently navigating quarterback uncertainties, including the Giants, who recently signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston but lack a clear long-term solution at the position.
Sanders’ potential is so high he could even be chosen as the No. 1 overall pick if the Tennessee Titans decide against selecting Cam Ward, or potentially slide down to the New Orleans Saints at the ninth spot.
The son of Deion Sanders showcased impressive skills during his time at Colorado, accumulating 4,134 passing yards and 37 touchdown passes in his final season. He appears ready to become a significant force in the game.
- Passing Yards: 4,134
