King Charles and Queen Camilla Lead Royals for Easter

The King and Queen will spearhead the Royal Family’s Easter Sunday observance this year, Buckingham Palace has announced.

Easter Sunday falls on April 20th, and the royal gathering will take place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

“Their Majesties The King and Queen, accompanied by Members of the Royal Family, will attend the Easter Matins Service at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor on Easter Sunday,”

This year’s appearance marks a significant public outing for King Charles since revealing his cancer diagnosis. He was observed greeting well-wishers following the service.

Notably absent were the Princess of Wales, Prince William and their three children. The Princess of Wales is currently in remission; therefore, her potential attendance alongside the King and Queen at Windsor this year remains a possibility.

Last year’s Easter Sunday service saw King Charles and Queen Camilla joined by Princess Anne and Timothy Laurence, as well as Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Traditionally, other members of the Royal Family have participated, including:

  • Princess Beatrice
  • Princess Eugenie
  • Zara Tindall
  • Mike Tindall
  • The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh
  • Lady Louise Windsor
