Kedarnath and Badrinath Temples to Reopen

Following extensive preparations and meticulous assessments, the revered portals to Shri Kedarnath Dham are set to swing open once more, marking the commencement of the annual pilgrimage season.

According to official announcements released this past Friday, the reopening date has been confirmed as May 2nd. A representative from the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) affirmed that preparations are complete and the sacred site will be accessible to devotees.

  • The BKTC’s decision follows a thorough review of weather conditions, infrastructure readiness, and logistical arrangements.
  • This reopening signifies the traditional beginning of the Char Dham Yatra, a deeply significant Hindu pilgrimage encompassing Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

The safety and spiritual fulfillment of pilgrims are our utmost priorities,” stated the BKTC spokesperson, underscoring the commitment to ensuring a smooth and secure experience for all visitors.
