More opportunities for British travelers to experience Jersey are on the horizon thanks to an extensive expansion of services from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.
The travel companies have unveiled their plans for Summer 2026, which includes a completely new route connecting Bournemouth Airport with Jersey, alongside increased flight frequency from several other UK airports. This represents a substantial increase in capacity, making it easier than ever for holidaymakers to reach the Channel Island.
Key highlights of this expansion include:
- Nearly 50,000 seats will be available between Jersey and various UK mainland airports next summer – a more than 50% increase compared to Summer 2025.
- A new route from Bournemouth Airport will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, from July 25th to September 29th, 2026.
- Newcastle International Airport will see added Tuesday flights (May 26th – September 29th, 2026), complementing existing Saturday services.
- East Midlands Airport’s season will extend until October 10th, starting May 24th, 2026.
- Leeds Bradford Airport’s season commences earlier, on May 2nd and continues through October 10th, 2026.
This growth is a direct response to the rising popularity of Jersey as a destination for UK holidaymakers seeking convenient travel options.
As Visit Jersey notes, “Escape to an island paradise in an hour or less by plane from over 20 airports across the UK.
“
The island offers a wealth of attractions. “Some 48 miles of stunning shoreline, pristine beaches and epic hikes await, along with a fascinating history – from World War II relics to medieval castles and an ancient burial chamber older than the pyramids. Whether you’re here to recharge or roam free, Jersey offers year-round beauty and over 540 places to dine and drink.”
Furthermore, Jet2holidays provides a selection of accommodation options ranging from three to five stars across popular areas like Grouville, St Helier, and St Brelade’s Bay.
Jersey, situated between Britain and France, is known for its aquamarine waters, expansive white sand beaches, and a climate renowned for its warmth and sunshine. Despite its compact size—just nine miles by five miles—the island offers a vibrant atmosphere earning it the nickname “little island with the big spirit.”
The expanded program caters to both short weekend trips and longer holidays.
Jersey is an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts, providing opportunities for hiking, surfing, kayaking, and diving. Beyond its beaches, visitors can explore castles, forts, museums, cobbled streets, and rolling hills.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, stated: “We are delighted to be significantly expanding our Jersey programme for Summer 26, following continued demand from customers and independent travel agents. The addition of this brand-new and exclusive route from Bournemouth Airport, on top of additional capacity and extended seasons across three other UK bases, means we are offering a great choice of flights departing from four of our UK airports next summer. With weekend and midweek flights available, customers have plenty of choice and flexibility when it comes to enjoying a getaway to Jersey next summer with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays.”
