Charlotte Griffiths, Editor-at-Large for the Mail on Sunday, suggested during an interview with GB News that the Duke of Sussex may have intentionally orchestrated the visit to deliberately provoke his brother, Prince William.
“It’s entirely plausible that Harry planned this specifically to frustrate William,” Griffiths stated. “The perception that Harry has consistently received preferential treatment – despite complaints about being labelled ‘the spare’ – is a long-standing source of irritation for William.” She cited examples like Harry’s allowance of facial hair on his wedding day, something Prince William was denied, as evidence of this perceived disparity.
Sources close to the Prince of Wales indicate that he had “hoped” to visit Ukraine himself but has been repeatedly turned down due to security concerns. Instead, he undertook a trip to Estonia.
