Georgia Jones has resumed her podcast, “Mum’s The Word,” offering reflections on perceived differences between men and women, occurring shortly after reports surfaced involving her husband, Danny Jones, and reality television personality Maura Higgins.
The former Miss England, married to McFly singer Danny since 2014, shared these observations during a Valentine’s Day episode of the podcast, recorded before recent events at the BRIT Awards. Jones had been absent from the show following the controversy. She has now returned alongside co-host Kelsey Parker.
During the episode, Jones spoke about fundamental differences in how men and women process information.
“I do believe we’re wired differently,” she stated. “Women tend to think one way, while men simply don’t. And that’s perfectly acceptable; we are different.” She emphasized the need for understanding: “The problem arises when we fail to recognize that our partners don’t think the same way.”
To illustrate her point, Jones shared a personal example related to parenting their son, Cooper.
“I leave the bedroom door open, even though it means the landing light shines in while I sleep. It might disturb my rest, but I want to be absolutely certain I hear him if he wakes up. The thought of not hearing Cooper is something I couldn’t handle.”
The situation that prompted much discussion began after Jones, a recent winner on “I’m A Celebrity,” was observed kissing Higgins at the BRIT Awards on March 3rd. Reports from *The Sun* indicated that this “drunken kiss” occurred while Georgia was reportedly at home with their son. The pair were subsequently seen continuing to socialize until early morning hours at London’s Nobu Hotel, a video later surfacing of them appearing to gaze intensely at one another before disappearing behind a curtain.
Two weeks after the incident, Danny Jones issued an apology on Instagram: “I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.”
According to *The Mirror*, Georgia initially moved out of the couple’s home but has since returned, reportedly working through these challenges. She was recently seen leaving a London recording studio, her wedding and engagement rings prominently displayed. Maura Higgins has not publicly commented on the matter.
Beyond discussing gender differences, Jones also addressed communication issues within relationships, specifically highlighting the often overlooked mental health needs of fathers after having children.
“When men express concerns in a lighthearted way,” she explained, “they’re sometimes dismissed or misinterpreted.” She continued: “It’s not coming from a negative place – I understand completely – but I don’t believe there is sufficient support for dads, particularly concerning their mental health after they become fathers. We tend to assume ‘you’re the strong ones; you’ll be fine,’ which is often far from the truth.”
- Jones emphasized the importance of recognizing and addressing potential mental health struggles in new fathers.
- She noted a tendency for partners to overlook concerns expressed by men, attributing it to societal expectations of male strength.
“I actually don’t think there is enough support for dads, especially in terms of mental health after having babies.”
