While occasional snacking isn’t inherently detrimental, the types of foods chosen and frequency can hinder your progress towards weight loss goals.
Speaking with GB News, an expert highlighted how specific aromas could potentially decrease the desire to snack. Dr. Tim Bond, a chemist and natural health specialist from Puressentiel, explained that snacking, particularly when involving high-calorie or unhealthy options consumed frequently, can sabotage efforts to shed pounds.
“Even well-balanced meals can be undermined by frequent indulgence in calorie-dense snacks, potentially leading to weight gain,” he stated. “However, a healthier alternative exists: the inhalation of certain plant-based essential oils has demonstrated an ability to diminish hunger and manage cravings, making it easier to resist tempting treats like biscuits, crisps, and chocolate – ultimately aiding weight loss endeavors.”
These aromas don’t directly cause weight loss. Instead, they offer indirect support for healthy weight management.
“Essential oils can contribute by reducing food cravings, boosting workout intensity, alleviating stress, and promoting better sleep,”
Dr. Bond elaborated.
He specifically cited four essential oils that have been studied for their potential role in weight management:
- Bergamot: Research suggests it may help suppress appetite, reduce cholesterol levels, and alleviate anxiety, pain, and stress – factors which can trigger overeating.
- Chamomile: May improve blood glucose control and contribute to weight loss.
- Mandarin: Rich in limonene, offering anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that could support weight management through appetite suppression and improved metabolism.
- Cinnamon: Some studies indicate it may assist with obesity by regulating appetite and enhancing energy metabolism.
To harness these benefits and combat snacking urges, Dr. Bond recommends the Puressentiel Slimstick Inhaler, which combines a unique formulation of five essential oils—Bergamot, Roman Chamomile, Mandarin, Clove, and Ceylon Cinnamon—designed to act as a natural appetite regulator.
“Studies indicate that 83% of users find this approach effective in reducing appetite,”
he added.
For further weight loss guidance, Dr. Bond previously suggested avoiding certain beverages often perceived as “healthy” which can unexpectedly stall progress.
