President Trump attributed the enthusiastic reception he received at UFC 314 in Miami this weekend to his administration’s achievements, calling the crowd’s response “legendary.”
Speaking from aboard Air Force One early Sunday morning, the former president recounted the scene as he and several members of his cabinet entered the Kaseya Center. The arena erupted with chants of “U-S-A,” a moment Trump described as a significant indicator of success.
“It was legendary,” he remarked. “To receive that kind of ovation is truly an honor, because it demonstrates we’re accomplishing our goals. If things weren’t progressing well, the reaction would be quite different.”
Trump was joined at ringside by UFC CEO Dana White and a number of administration officials, including:
- Elon Musk (DOGE policy advisor)
- Kash Patel (FBI Director)
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Secretary of Health and Human Services)
- Tulsi Gabbard (Director of National Intelligence)
- Marco Rubio (Secretary of State)
His granddaughter, Kai Trump, was also in attendance.
Asked about the crowd’s vibrant welcome, young Kai shared her enthusiasm: “It was really cool, it was really cool,” she said with a smile. “I thought it was awesome. This was my second UFC fight and I really enjoyed it.”
The president lauded the fighters as “modern-day warriors,” stating he had conversations with each of them after their bouts.
“They were all great. It’s remarkable to witness that kind of dedication and strength. These are incredibly tough individuals, every single one. They’re true warriors – modern-day warriors.”
Trump also took a subtle jab at his predecessor, Joe Biden.
“I’m always available for interviews, unlike some others,” he said. “Do you think President Biden would agree to an interview at two in the morning? He wouldn’t even do one at nine.”
