Trump fielded far more press questions than Biden

A recent analysis reveals a stark difference in media engagement between former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden during Cabinet meetings.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized this distinction, framing it as evidence of the administration’s commitment to openness and accessibility. “This president represents an unparalleled level of transparency,” she stated at a Friday press briefing. “The Cabinet meeting yesterday underscored that point.”

According to a report by The Washington Times, President Trump responded to approximately 100 questions from reporters across his first three open press Cabinet meetings this year—a figure significantly exceeding the engagement shown by Joe Biden throughout his four years in office. The comparison highlights a considerable disparity in interaction with the media.

Specifically:

  • Trump answered roughly 20 questions during Thursday’s meeting, following 55 questions at his initial Cabinet session and an additional 15 last month, totaling around 90.
  • In contrast, Biden reportedly addressed just five press inquiries over nine Cabinet meetings during his tenure, with each session typically lasting only about five minutes.

The frequency of Cabinet meetings also differed between administrations:

  • Trump presided over 25 Cabinet meetings during his first term.
  • Barack Obama held 19 such meetings within his initial four years in office.

One notable instance occurred last September when President Biden, at his first Cabinet meeting in nearly a year, effectively ceded the proceedings to his wife, Jill Biden, who was seated at the head of the table. He remarked, “It’s all yours, kid,” prompting observation and discussion.

Fox News Digital reached out to Biden’s staff for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
