Seacrest falls onstage

Ryan Seacrest, the celebrated host of “Wheel of Fortune,” experienced an unexpected fall during a recent taping of the show, adding a touch of humor to the long-running game program.

The 50-year-old television personality recently expressed his enthusiasm for the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Festival in the United Kingdom. This unique event involves participants racing down a steep hill in pursuit of a wheel of cheese—the victor claiming the prize cheese at the finish line.

The recent stage mishap occurred after Seacrest playfully accepted a challenge related to this very festival. Longtime co-host Vanna White presented him with a large, branded wheel of cheese and cheekily asked if he was ready to give it a try. “I was born for this,” Seacrest responded enthusiastically.

As White rolled the cheese, Seacrest launched into a sprint after it. However, his momentum proved too much, resulting in a noticeable stumble as he tripped over the moving wheel and landed on the stage with a resounding thud. White reacted with concern, asking “Oh no! Are you going to be OK?” before reassuring viewers that he was alright.

Seacrest, visibly winded but undeterred, returned to center stage, holding up the cheese wheel while playfully hiding behind White and waving to the audience.

The incident sparked a flurry of reactions online. One fan commented with laughter, “Vanna better be ready to step in for Ryan in case he injures himself!” Another expressed sympathy and admiration: “I know that hurt! But he got right back up! Yay ryan.” A more humorous observation read, “Humpty Dumpty had a great fall, sorry Ryan… you are Humpty tonight.”

The show’s official video caption playfully acknowledged the recurring nature of these moments, stating, “If we had a nickel for every time Ryan ended up on the floor this season…”

This isn’t the first instance of unexpected antics during Seacrest’s current season. Earlier, he found himself in an unusual situation courtesy of a contestant with wrestling experience. Bill Page, from Wilmington, Delaware, initiated his appearance on “Wheel of Fortune” by playfully putting Seacrest in a headlock—a move inspired by his background as a former professional wrestler.

As Maggie Sajak, Pat Sajak’s daughter and current host of the show, recounted, Page admitted he wasn’t sure how his wrestling skills would translate to the game show stage. “I said I did pro wrestling, and they said, ‘What kind of moves can you put on Ryan?’” Page laughed. “I said, ‘I guess the easiest one would be a headlock.’”

In the viral clip, Page is seen confidently securing Seacrest in a headlock, demonstrating a surprisingly adept grasp. Initially, Seacrest responded with good humor and smiles; however, as Page maintained the hold and gently lowered him toward the ground, Seacrest began to playfully tap out.
