Gabbard Seeks Prosecution of Intelligence Leakers

DNI Tulsi Gabbard refers alleged intelligence leakers for prosecution; details possible motives Politics

Former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reported on Friday that individuals within the intelligence community suspected of leaking classified information to news organizations have been referred for criminal investigation by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice.

“Our internal inquiries are complete, and we’ve forwarded these cases to the Department of Justice and the FBI for a formal criminal probe,” Gabbard stated. “These actions constitute crimes, and accountability is essential to halt this pattern.”

Gabbard emphasized that public support for President Trump stemmed from a desire to eliminate the politicization and misuse of intelligence agencies, which had eroded trust among Americans.

Declassification & Information Sharing

Furthermore, Gabbard confirmed the declassification of a counterterrorism strategy developed under the Biden administration, alongside a plan to enhance information sharing with technology companies.

Gabbard vowed to prevent further breaches of trust within her leadership and elaborated on how these leaks were used against President Trump’s policies.

“The pattern is clear: selective disclosures to favored media outlets, twisting and manipulating intelligence to specifically obstruct the president’s agenda and jeopardize national security efforts,” she explained.

When questioned by Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade about the awareness of those implicated in the leaks, Gabbard responded that while uncertain whether all parties were aware of the investigations, these represented the initial three cases being submitted to the Department of Justice, with additional inquiries ongoing.

Kilmeade pressed for specifics regarding the nature of their actions and potential public disclosure of names.

“Due to ongoing criminal proceedings, I cannot divulge specific details at this juncture,” Gabbard replied. However, she did identify the publications involved – including The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Huffington Post – and suggested a recurring motive.

“In each instance, it’s evident that the objective, based on the outcomes observed from these leaks, has been to directly undermine President Trump and his collaborative efforts with the Director of the CIA and the FBI,” Gabbard asserted.
