Reform UK’s Nigel Farage has strongly disputed conclusions drawn from a recent report examining the policing response to disturbances following the tragic Southport attack.
The Home Affairs Committee’s comprehensive investigation, focused on the aftermath of the fatal stabbing of three young women at a Taylor Swift fan gathering last summer, yielded findings that Farage rejects. Specifically, he voiced his disagreement with the assertion within the report stating there was “no evidence” of preferential treatment or “two-tier policing.”
The report meticulously outlines the actions and decisions made by law enforcement agencies as they attempted to manage the ensuing unrest.
Key points highlighted in the investigation include:
- Detailed analysis of police strategies employed during the period of disorder.
- Examination of resource allocation and deployment across different areas affected by the disturbances.
- Assessment of communication protocols between law enforcement and the public.
“I do not accept that there was no evidence of two-tier policing,” Farage stated.
